Welcome!

Browse the open house to learn more about this project.

This is phase two of a multi-phase project to replace traffic signals and poles in downtown Pendleton.
We completed phase one in 2022, replacing traffic signals and poles
on Southeast Court Avenue/Southeast First Street.

We also upgraded curb ramps to meet current Americans with Disabilities Act standards.

Existing poles and span wires that hold the traffic signals are old, and do not meet current safety standards. When the project is complete, the new signals will have metal poles with arched extensions holding signals heads.

This online open house gives you information and an opportunity to provide comments.

Project Background

The existing poles and span wires
holding the traffic signals at these
intersections are old and do not
meet current safety standards.

Curb ramps are not up to ADA standards.

Project Overview:

We will replace signal poles, upgrade traffic signals and reconstruct curb ramps at these intersections in downtown Pendleton.

  • Southwest Court Avenue (U.S. 30) and Southwest First Street.
  • Southwest Dorion Avenue (U.S. 30) and Southwest First Street.

Replacement signals will have new metal poles with arched extensions holding signal heads.
Curb ramps will meet current standards per the Americans with Disabilities Act.

Purpose and Need:

Existing poles and span wires holding the traffic signals at these intersections are old and do not meet current safety standards. Existing signal poles that support utilities such as lighting, city power/phone cables, etc. will remain in place, as needed.

Previous Work:

In October 2022, we drilled at the intersections to determine ground conditions and placement of new signal poles.
