Newberg-Dundee Bypass Phase 1W –
Wilsonville Road Realignment

Construction has started – you may have noticed activity in the area around NE Wilsonville Road and NE Adolf Road in South Newberg. Our crews have already been out working and we estimate work to be completed in summer 2020.

The goal of the Newberg-Dundee Bypass project is to improve the livability and overall traffic flow in the surrounding communities. The purpose of this project is to realign Wilsonville Road to connect with OR 219 and prepare for Phase 2 construction.

About the Project

Phase 1 was completed and opened to the public in early January 2018. This project continues Phase 1 work with the realignment of Wilsonville Road to connect with OR 219 about 750 feet south of Wynooski Road. This work is needed to prepare for the future construction of the OR 219 and Phase 2 intersection.

    Phase 1W work will include:

    • Constructing a two-lane roadway (one lane in each direction).

    • Building a cul-de-sac.

    • Adding roadside ditches.

    • Adding stormwater treatment facilities.

    • Relocating utilities.

    • Installing new signs and permanent striping.

    • Remove concrete divider at NE Wilsonville Road and Springbrook Road intersection.

During construction, we will be changing the names of two roads. We will contact residents who will be impacted by the road name change with more information soon.

Our crews have already relocated utilities in preparation for construction.

We will rebuild NE Adolf Road to a two-lane roadway, with one lane in each direction. This road will be renamed NE Wilsonville Road.

Impacts: While our crews are constructing this new road, expect to see flaggers and single lane closures.  Construction will happen Monday through Friday,
    7 a.m. to 4 p.m.

We will pave a portion of OR 219 where the new segment of NE Wilsonville Road connects to the highway.

Impacts: Work will be completed at night, expect to see some flagging.

We will remove the barrier at the Springbrook Road and NE Wilsonville Road intersection to allow for left turns.

Impacts: While construction is happening, expect to see some flagging, delays and partial lane closures.

This section of NE Wilsonville Road will be renamed to McKern Court and we will build a cul-de-sac to assist with traffic movement.

We will reach out to the residents and homeowners that are impacted by the road name change directly with more information.
